However, we hoped his answers would address issues of racial injustice specific to our own community or dealt with racial disparity in the justice system at more length.

We appreciated her engagement with issues of justice for children and racial justice as well as the fact that she is endorsed by the Black Democratic Caucus. She also discussed overcoming unconscious bias. However, her background was less explicitly rooted in issues directly related to racial justice than in child advocacy.
